Troubleshoot Guide

Having issues with your Digital Jaap Counter? Follow these simple steps to resolve common problems.

Important Note

Most counter issues are usage-related, not manufacturing defects. Please follow this guide carefully before contacting support.

Basic Troubleshooting Steps

Check the Battery

Most issues are battery-related

  • Open the battery compartment at the back
  • Check if the battery is inserted correctly (+ and - terminals)
  • Try replacing with a fresh CR2032 battery
  • Ensure the battery contacts are clean and not corroded

Reset the Counter

Reset might fix display or counting issues

  • Press and hold the RESET button for 3-5 seconds
  • The counter should reset to 0
  • Try counting again to test
  • If reset button is stuck, press firmly with a pointed object

Check Click Mechanism

If button is not responding properly

  • Make sure you are pressing the button firmly
  • Clean any dust or debris around the button
  • Check if the button is physically damaged
  • Try pressing from different angles

Common Issues & Solutions

Display is blank or not showing numbers

Solutions:

  • 1.Replace the battery with a new CR2032
  • 2.Check battery polarity (+ and -)
  • 3.Clean battery contacts with a dry cloth
  • 4.Press reset button and try again

Counter is not counting when pressed

Solutions:

  • 1.Press the button more firmly
  • 2.Check if battery has sufficient charge
  • 3.Clean the button area
  • 4.Try resetting the counter

Counter is counting incorrectly or skipping

Solutions:

  • 1.This may be due to weak battery - replace it
  • 2.Reset the counter completely
  • 3.Press button properly without multiple rapid presses
  • 4.Check for any physical damage to the button

Reset button is not working

Solutions:

  • 1.Press and hold for 5-7 seconds firmly
  • 2.Use a thin pointed object like a pen tip
  • 3.Check battery - weak battery can prevent reset
  • 4.Try replacing battery first, then reset

Battery Replacement Guide

1.Use a CR2032 3V coin cell battery (commonly available)

2.Open the battery compartment at the back by sliding or lifting the cover

3.Remove old battery and insert new one with correct polarity (+ facing up)

4.Close the compartment and test the counter
